Flat-Rate vs. Hourly Pricing
In the computer repair field, its difficult to choose not only which service to go with, but which pricing option will be the most affordable. Of the vast number of companies in this field, there is an even mix between flat-rate pricing, and hourly rates. How is one to know which is better? Here we will break it down. In this example, we will say that your computer is slow to browse the internet. You're not sure what the cause is so you'll need a diagnostic (that's one service). After the diagnostic it is determined that your computer is infected with a combination of viruses and spyware (we're up to two services). Even if both technicians had the same skill level and took the same time to fix the problem, you could be paying two very different prices for the same service.
